Mckell Haynie

APPRENTICE

 

Mckell Haynie, from Pleasant Grove, Utah, discovered her passion for dance at a young age. In 2021, she joined Utah Metropolitan Ballet II, was promoted to trainee in 2023, and apprentice in 2025. Mckell has competed in the Youth America Grand Prix for several years, placing in the top 12 each year and the top 3 in 2023–2025. She was selected as a Senior Division finalist at the YAGP Finals in Tampa, Florida, and was invited to perform with the International Contemporary Ensemble in New York City.

Throughout her training she has earned scholarships to prestigious programs, including the John Cranko School, Houston Ballet, Colorado Ballet, European School of Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet, and Kansas City Ballet.

With Utah Metropolitan Ballet, Mckell has performed in various productions, including A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Nutcracker, Coppélia, and Peter Pan. Her favorite roles include Arabian Soloist in Jacqueline Colledge’s The Nutcracker and performing in George Balanchine’s Serenade. She is excited to begin the upcoming season with Utah Metropolitan Ballet.
