Giuliano Ruocco

Giuliano Ruocco, from the Amalfi Coast in Italy, discovered ballet online during COVID. A scholarship from Antonio Fini allowed Giuliano to attend the Fini Dance Summer Intensive, where Michael Mao taught in-person ballet classes using a kinetically based method strongly influenced by David Howard, fostering Giuliano's interest in kinetic movement in ballet.

After further training in Milan, Mr. Fini and Marie Fichaux awarded him a scholarship to continue his studies at the French American Ballet in New York. Under the direction of Ms. Fichaux, Giuliano was awarded a bronze medal at the Boston YAGP in 2024.

Since then, Giuliano has been a student at Ballet Academy East in New York, under the direction of Stacey Calvert and Julia Dubno, on a two-year scholarship from the David Howard Foundation.

Giuliano has further studied with Espen Giljiane and Nancy Bielsky at Steps on Broadway, and with Alan Hineline, director of CPYB, and in contemporary with Vanessa Martines de Baños.

Giuliano was cast by Peter Merz in Eglevsky Ballet’s The Nutcracker and guested in their spring production. He graduated from BAE in June 2026, dancing James in La Sylphide.

Giuliano is thrilled to join Utah Metropolitan Ballet for the 2026-2027 season; he looks forward to meeting the Utah audience and is deeply grateful for this wonderful opportunity.
