Alex Hatch

Alex Hatch is from Phoenix, Oregon. She received the majority of her training from Studio Roxander Academy of Ballet under David and Elyse Roxander. From 2017-2018, she attended summer intensives at Philadelphia Ballet and Colorado Ballet. She was awarded Top 12 in classical and contemporary at the Youth America Grand Prix 2016-2018; won 2nd place at the World Dance Movement Competition in 2021; won first place at the Puerto Rico Classical Dance Competition in 2022; and was awarded “Best Solo Performance” at the Saint-Petersburg International Film Festival Dance Video World Cup for her title role in the BYU dance film, “Giselle,” in 2022.

Hatch danced with Brigham Young University’s Theatre Ballet company for 5 years and performed many soloist and principal roles in ballets by Marius Petipa, George Balanchine, Gerald Arpino, and José Limón. Hatch graduated BYU in 2023 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in English and minors in Ballet and Global Women’s Studies. She joined Utah Metropolitan Ballet in August 2023 as an Apprentice, was promoted to Artist in December 2023, and was promoted to Solo Artist in 2025.

 

During her time with UMB, Hatch has enjoyed performing the roles of English Tea and Waltz of the Flowers pas de deux in Jacqueline Colledge’s Nutcracker, Gaylette in The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and Russian Demi in George Balanchine’s Serenade. She is looking forward to her third season with the company.
