Emeline Settlemyre was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. She trained primarily under the direction of Viktoria Titova, a soloist for the Bolshoi Ballet, at Emerald Ballet Academy in Bellevue, Washington. She participated in the Youth American Grand Prix from 2010-2016, attending the New York City Finals and placing in the Top 12. She attended ballet summer intensives at the Paris Opera, the Rock School with a full scholarship and Ballet Arizona. Emeline moved to Utah in 2016 to attend Utah Valley University to pursue a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts with a Ballet emphasis and joined Utah Metropolitan Ballet, as an apprentice. She later became an artist in the Corps de Ballet in 2017. She grew up performing lead roles such as Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, and the Sugar Plum Fairy in the Nutcracker. With Utah Metropolitan Ballet, Emeline has performed in soloist roles including the soloist in Jacqueline Colledge’s Swedish Suite, Fairy Godmother in Jacqueline Colledge’s Cinderella, as well as English soloist and Waltz of the Flowers soloist in Jacqueline Colledge’s Nutcracker. She is now starting her fourth season with the company, and is really excited to be finishing her BFA on a dance scholarship to graduate this upcoming spring.
