Amy Cook is from American Fork, Utah. She received her training at Jacqueline's School of Ballet under the direction of Jacqueline Colledge, Heather Gray and Brittnee Squires. She attended summer intensive programs on full scholarship at Houston Ballet, American Ballet Theater, Jacqueline’s School of Ballet and RDA National Choreography Intensive. Amy competed at Youth America Grand Prix from 2013-2016, placing in the top 12 each year. In the summer of 2015, she toured Europe with UMB II, performing as part of the Young Tanzommer Festival in Austria. Amy was invited to train with Utah Metropolitan Ballet’s professional company in 2014 and became a full company member in 2016. She was promoted to Solo Artist in 2019 and to Principal Artist in 2020. Some of her favorite roles include: featured soloist in Alan Hineline’s Rhapsody as well as Hineline’s Fünf, Heather Gray’s Fragmented One, Dark Angel in George Balanchine’s Serenade, Turning Girl in George Balanchine’s Who Cares?, Cinderella in Jacqueline Colledge’s Cinderella, as well as Snow Queen, Waltz of the Flowers Soloist and Sugar Plum Fairy in Jacqueline Colledge’s Nutcracker. Amy is excited for her fifth season with the company.
